Youth Cong stages protest in Delhi over Mandsaur firing incident, demands Shivraj's resignation


New Delhi:  The Delhi unit of Youth Congress, as part of its central wing's nationwide protest against alleged killing of farmers in Mandsaur of Madhya Pradesh today held a "Rail Roko Andolan" here and demanded resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on the issue. The protest was led by Sitaram Lamba, National Secretary and Delhi in-charge of Youth Congress here at Tilak Bridge Railway Station. Due to the protest, Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi Express service was affected as it was stopped by the agitating youth workers. "Our main demands are resignation of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh, who appears to be engrossed in promoting Yoga and not dispensing his duty arising from his chair," Mr Lamba said. He also urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a statement addressing the plight of the farmers who are the backbone of the Indian economy. "Youth Congress demands an independent inquiry into the incident and law must take its own course and the Government should take appropriate action as per law," Mr Lamba asserted. In different states (Haryana, Punjab, Mumbai, MP, Bihar, Assam, Odisha and West Bengal) across the country, the Youth leaders staged a protest in a similar manner demanding the same.
