BAKU (Azerbaijan) : Vikas Krishan, the 2010 Asian Games gold-medallist, has entered the quarters of the ongoing World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in the 74-kg category here. Vikas prevailed over Georgia's Kvachatadze Zaal 3-0 late last night to advance and will now face Lee Dongyun from Korea.
With this win, he has also become the third boxer from the nation to enter the quarters of the ongoing tournament and is just one step way from booking a Olympic berth. Earlier, Manoj Kumar (64kg) and Sumit Sangwan (81kg) had already registered their place in the quarter-finals of the tournament.
However, all these three boxers would have to enter the semis to secure themselves for the upcoming Rio Olympics, scheduled in August this year.
