Lucknow:Uttar Pradesh has turned into a desired destination for the Central government in launching several IT schemes to generate jobs and enhance IT exports. The state is set to get 8,400 seats BPO besides 100 of the government district hospitals will be connected with e-hospitals. A meeting to this effect was held between Union Information Technology Minister Ravishanker Prasad and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath here today. Later briefing reporters at a joint press conference here, Mr Prasad said the digital progress of the country goes through UP and hence the state is the most desired destination for the Centre. The Union Minister said the Centre has decided to set up BPO at smaller cities and hence of the total 48,000 seats in the country, 8,400 is given to UP. "Of the 1,900 seats allotted so far through tendering in UP, the cities like Ghazipur, Unnao, Bareilly, Allahabad and Lucknow get the new BPO centres," he said, adding Mr Adityanath has reserved 1,500 BPO seats for the backward Bundelkhand region to be set up at Chatrakoot and Jhansi while 1,500 seats would be given to the cities of eastern UP," Mr Prasad said. He also announced that in Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, International fame TCS would be setting up a 1,000 seat BPO with giving priority to the women. "Within six-month time, 100 district hospitals of UP would be connected by e-hospital when the patients would get all the benefits of telemedicine," the Union Minister said. While the UP government will provide the computers and other infrastructures, the Centre would provide all the training for the purpose. Though admitting that the previous Akhilesh Yadav government in UP was not cooperative with the Modi government at the Centre for setting up IT hub in the state, he said during the past three years of the BJP rule in the country, Noida and Greater Noida had set up 32 mobile companies. He also announced that tomorrow, he would launch the new unit of the Samsung Mobile unit in Noida which will produce 10 crore mobiles a year. Mr Adityanath in a address said the new industrial policy of the state would be announced the day his government completes 100 day in the office. "We are much interested in attracting big investments in UP so that people get jobs," he said while ruled out the opposition charges that law and order situation is not good in UP." Rule of law prevails in the state and you cannot expect any good from the opposition ,who had always took the state backwards during their past 15 years rule," he added.
