UP police gets pat for recovering stolen buffalo of a SP leader

azam-khan-buffalo-52ef68d6ce545_exlSaharanpur, Aug 13 - Uttar Pradesh police has recieved a pat in its back when it recovered a buffalo of the ruling Samajwadi Party city president eight months back. UP police who is generally charged with laxcity in the law and order issue most of the time is now more efficient in searching the stolen buffaloes and chickens. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nitin Tiwari, held a press conference here yesterday, to inform about the achievement of his police in tracing out the stolen buffalo of the SP leader.He even announced a reward of Rs 5,000 for the police team which was involved in tracing out the buffalo. UP police came in the news after Rampur police went all out to trace out the stolen 8 buffaloes of UP minister Mohammad Azam Khan way back in January, 2014. In that case, three policemen were suspended and the buffaloes were traced within a month and two people were arrested. According to the incident, the buffalo of SP Saharanpur city president Faizaurahman were stolen from his residence in January last. The leader even approached the Chief Minister's office over the incident and later police registered a FIR over the theft. SSP said that five criminals were arrested during an encounter with police in Hasanpur area on Tuesday night and seized from their possession the stolen buffalo of the SP leader along with a cow and a calf. The arrested criminal have been identified as Salman, Faizan, Zahur, Mustafa and Naushad. Mr Tiwari said that the SP leader had identified his buffalo. During the interrogation the criminals accepted stealing three cows from the Asaram Bapu's ashram and another three buffaloes. Two small mini-trucks along with two country made pistols and knives were received from them. Meanwhile, UP BJP spokesperson Vijaya Bahadur Pathak has criticised the UP police for highlighting the achievement of recovery of the stolen bullfalo of the SP leader. "This SP government has no value for the lives of the human being and was only concerned for the animals of the ruling party leaders," he alleged. Mr Pathak said when the entire state is reeling under the police atrocities against the poor and the deprived, this act of the UP police shows that they are just concerned about the ruling party leaders. He also condemned the act of the SSP Saharanpur for highlighting the recovery of the buffalo when most of the murders remained unresolved.
