UP IPS officer Amitabh Thakur meets MHA officials, seeks CBI probe into charges against him

New Delhi, Jul 13 -UP IPS officer Amitabh Thakur today met officials of the Home Ministry and sought CBI probe into the charges against him,. Thakur’s meeting came a day after he was booked on charge of rape. The rape case was slapped on Thakur after he filed a complaint against Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav for allegedly threatening him. Thakur has claimed that the rape charge was slapped on him after he made public an audio recording of the SP supremo allegedly threatening him over the phone. Talking to reporters after meeting Home Ministry officials, Thakur said during his meeting, MHA officer Anant Kumar Singh assured him the Ministry would look into his complaint. On Saturday, Amitabh had submitted a complaint at Hazratganj police station against Mulayam for allegedly threatening him.
