UP IG rushes to Delhi to seek central security for his family

mulayamsinghyadavamitabhthakur-171247Lucknow, Jul 13 - Apprehending threat on his life from the ruling Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Inspector General of Police(IG) Civil Defence Amitabh Thakur and his social activist wife Nutun would be going to Delhi this afternoon seeking Central forces security for the family. "We are going to New Delhi today to present our case before Ministry of Home Affairs seeking Central force protection," Amitabh said here today before leaving for New Delhi. The IPS officer also said that they would be demanding CBI inquiry into the events after Lokayukta complaint against UP mining minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati, including alleged threat from Samajwadi Party Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav, false rape charge and to stop harassment of an IPS officer by UP government. Yesterday, Mr Thakur had alleged threat from Samajwadi Party government and even announced to approach the High Court. Earlier he lodged a police complaint against Mr Mulayam Singh Yadav for threatening him on phone for lodging FIR against UP minister Prajapati on mining and other scams. However, after the IG gave the complaint against the SP president, Lucknow police lodged a FIR against Mr Thakur and his wife in connection with rape of a Ghaziabad woman in December last.
