UP govt to consider for CBI probe into Sara

amanmani5_1436780450Lucknow, Jul 21-Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today said the government will consider recommending a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into death of Sara Singh, wife of Amanmani Tripathi. " The family members of Sara met me today and they have demanded a CBI probe. We are considering for it and will do accordingly after going through the incident," Mr Yadav told reporters here. The Chief Minister also announced that the family members of Sara have been provided with security as they have demanded for the same stating that they are facing threat on their lives. On July 18, acting on the complaint of the mother of Sara, the daughter-in-law of controversial jailed former minister Amarmani Tripathi, an FIR was lodged against her husband Amanmani Tripathi in Ferozabad. An FIR under sections 498 (enticing or taking away or detaining with criminal intent a married woman), 302 (murder) and 120 B (criminal conspiracy) was lodged against Amanmani at Sirsaganj police station. Sara’s mother, Seema Singh had on July 17 met the Superintendent of Police, Piyush Srivastava, and raised objections over the post-mortem report of her daughter saying that there was no mention of the injury marks on her body nor was it (post-mortem) conducted by a panel of doctors. Sara (27) was killed on July 9 when the car in which she was travelling overturned into a pit in a bid to save a cyclist in Firozabad district. Amanmani, who was driving the car, had miraculously escaped unhurt, raising doubts over the accident. The family, suspecting foul play, had been knocking the doors of the Raj Bhawan, DGP and SSP of Lucknow demanding CBI inquiry in the case. Ms Singh had called on Governor Ram Naik on Thursday and apprised him of the case and pressed for CBI probe. Sara's mother also confronted Amanmani in the Lucknow district jail and there too, he could not give reply to certain questions on the death of Sara. Ms Singh said Amarmani Tripathi had not accepted her daughter as his daughter-in-law and hence his involvement in the murder cannot be ruled out. Ms Singh also told reporters that post her daughter's death she was told by people that Sara had three injury marks on her body. Sara also told her mother that she wanted to get divorced from Amanmani as she could not adjust with him but he was not willing for the separation. Former UP Minister Amarmani Tripathi and his wife Madhumani are in jail for life term in the murder of poetess Madhumita Shukla. Amanmani too was put in the jail after the accident in connection with a kidnapping case. Amanmani had contested the 2012 Assembly polls on Samajwadi party ticket but failed to win.
