Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today hinted that his government was ready for a CBI probe into the Bulandshahr gangrape incident, if the victim's family wants. Even after six days, UP police has failed to nab the main culprits of the Bulandshahr gangrape incident. "Rajnitik dal kamrey mein baith kar pidit logon ko kya samjha rahe hain? Ye rajneeti nahi hai to kya hai? Ye log kamre mei baith kay kya baatein bol rahe hain? Woh chahate hain CBI jaanch ho to mai taiyaar hu," (Leaders of political parties are talking to the victims in a close door meeting and what they are suggesting them. Is this not a politics? What the political leaders are talking inside the room. If they want a CBI probe, then I am too ready) the CM said. Mr Yadav made these comment on the sidelines of the oath ceremony of the deputy Lokayukta at the Rajbhawan here today.
The CM said "Bulandshahr case was very saddening, unfortunate and shameful incident, but other political parties want to gain political mileage out of it.These political parties are trying to politicise the matter, in view of upcoming polls." Mr Yadav said the state government has given strict orders to probe the matter." He further said that the government will back the doors of the fast-track court to punish the culprits and justice would be delivered to the victims at any cost. Hitting out at the BJP, the CM said that as there was no development issue before the BJP, hence they are raising the issue of the Bulandshahr and demanding a CBI probe. "BJP has failed in the development and were just interested in doing politics sitting inside an AC room," he said while commented in Hindi" Vikas ke mamle me BJP tan-tan gopal." He, however, appealed to the opposition parties not to do politics over the matter and should show their sensitivity on the matter. Meanwhile, immediately after the CM's statement, BJP hit back, saying that when the government has failed to nab the culprits even after passage of six days, now Akhilesh Yadav was also singing the tune of Mohammad Azam Khan.
"No arrest of the main accused in the Bulandshahr rape shows the inefficiency of the Samajwadi Party government and the statement of the CM reflects his frustration and desperation," alleged state BJP general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak here. He further said that the incidents of rapes were rampant in the state, but the CM was just defending himself and doing nothing to control the crimes. Charging the Opposition by talking to the victims in close door for doing politics against the government, the CM himself has shown his weakness. ''In the past, Mr Yadav also talked to several victims in closed door. Did the CM also indulged in politics," he questioned. UP police, which was investigating the case, has so far arrested three accused in the gangrape of a mother and her teenage daughter during a road holdup on NH-91 on July 29. Though there were at least seven to eight person involved in the heinous crime, police has failed to nab the others.
