UP Govt doing politics over compensation: BJP

Uttar Pradesh BJP has alleged that the ruling Samajwadi Party was doing politics and dividing the society on the name of compensation besides ignoring the genuine case.

"The compensation given by the Akhilesh Yadav government is totally biased since the Kunda DSP murder till the Dadri episode. The state government only goes through the communal and caste line to select the names and the amount of the compensation," claimed UP BJP spokesperson Vijay Bahadur Pathak here today.

Yesterday, UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav had hiked the amount of the compensation for the Dadri family to Rs 45 lakhs after announcing Rs 10 lakhs last week. Similarly a youth injured in the firing after the incident was also given Rs five lakhs by the state government.

Talking to the reporters here, Mr Pathak said it is unfortunate that the government was sleeping on the murder of a journalist in Chandauli on Saturday night but was prompt in the announcement for the Dadri family."

It is only the politics and the effort to divide the society on the name of communal and caste the state government is interested in," he charged.

The BJP leader further said the SP government in the state was just interested in the well being of certain sections of the society and was even ignoring the majority community for their own political interest. Meanwhile, Mr Pathak also accused the UP government of misusing the police in curbing the social media to safeguard the criticism of the government."

Recently, a woman in Saharanpur was put in jail for posting against the government which is unfortunate," he claimed. Warning the SP government to avoid such controversy over compensation and curbing of the social media, Mr Pathak said people will reply to the Samajwadi Party in the 2017 assembly polls.
