UP CS removal: BJP says attempt will be of no use; Azam says was surprised

Lucknow : Removal of Deepak Singhal from the post of Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh has drawn mixed response in the BJP and the ruling Samajwadi Party.
BJP state president Keshav Prasad Maurya said Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav was making a vain attempt to showcase that he has zero tolerance towards corruption.
"It was the CM himself who appointed Singhal as CS even after knowing that he is one of the most corrupt officers of the state. Now removing him after two months will only prove that Akhilesh Yadav was putting up a drama for the masses," Mr Maurya said in a statement here.
