The authorities of the Nehru Yuva kendra had earlier rejected the list of the members given by the state government which mostly includes the names of senior government teachers and officials. Later on they made appointments in which mostly were either RSS, BJP or Vidhyarthi Parishad members. The selection committee members are the part of the three members committee headed by the district magistrates to appoint three to four NYC volunteers in each block to propogate the central schemes. These volunteers are appointed for a period of two years and they are paid Rs 2500 per month as honorarium. Demanding immediate cancellation of the list of the RSS and BJP leaders in the selection committee, Mr Singh said ''party will agitate over the issue and even go to the court if their demands were not met.
