UP Cong holds silent dharna, led by Raj Babbar against Dalit atrocities in Gujarat



Lucknow : Congress leaders and workers of Uttar Pradesh today staged a statewide ' silent demonstration', led by state party president Raj Babbar , in protest against the Dalit atrocities in Gujarat. UP Congress president Raj Babbar sat on silent dharna at Gandhi Pratima in Hazratganj, along with other party leaders at around 1215 hrs, over one hour late from schedule. AICC secretaries Zuber Khan, Rana Goswami, Nasib Singh and Prakash Joshi, along with other senior leaders like Rajesh Mishra and Rita Bahuguna Joshi, also joined the silent demonstration in Lucknow with Raj Babbar. The demonstration was in protest against the Dalit atrocities in Gujarat with Congress holding the dharna in different parts of the country. Meanwhile, UP Congress Spokesperson Sanjay Bajpai said here that similar silient protest were held in all district headquarters of the state.
