Lucknow - Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee has flayed the Samajwadi Party government for doing nothing to stop the deaths caused due to dengue, which has now hit the entire state claiming over 175 lives in Lucknow alone.
The Party leaders also flagged off four battery rickshaw for anti-larva spraying in Lucknow today.
Taking on the SP government and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for their much publicised `Development Agenda’, UPCC media cell vice-chairman Maroof Khan said that the claim of Mr Yadav has been now exposed with the spread of dengue and other communicable diseases in the entire state.
"In Lucknow alone, 175 persons died due to Dengue so far, but Akhilesh Yadav who talk of development has not even ensured to get the garbage heap cleared or get the anti-larva spray in the district to protect the citizens from threat of dengue”, Mr. Maroof claimed.
He added that to give some relief to the public, they took a decision and arranged four battery rickshaws which started anti-larva spray after being flagged off by the senior leaders at UPCC head-quarter today.
Mr. Maroof Khan also attacked the Mayor Dinesh Sharma on the above issue. ''It is strange that the mayor who should devote his time to ensure proper cleaning of the city as well as proper anti-larva spray had first gone to attend the Party’s native executive and is now busy in organising Ram Leela, had no time to look into the problem of general public,'' Mr. Khan alleged, while demanding that if the Party is more important for Dinesh Sharma, then he should resign as mayor and let someone other take charge so that proper civic amenities and cleanliness can be maintained.
He also took a jibe at BJP’s Swach Bharat Abhiyan and said, "Let Narendra Modi, who started Swach Bharat Abhiyan, also see the civic conditions of Lucknow, he will himself get first hand account of how his call was followed by his own top Party leader Dinesh Sharma and that too when he was a city mayor.”
