UP CM writes to PM to include suggestions of state

0Lucknow, Aug 24 - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to include the suggestion of Uttar Pradesh in the recommendations of the subcommittee set up to rationalise state's shares in the centrally sponsored schemes. The suggestions of UP government should also be sent to Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh who is also convener of the subgroup. "I had attended the meeting of the subgroup set up to rationalise state's shares in centrally sponsored schemes. I had given some suggestions keeping in view the geographical size of the state. But I am sorry to say that my suggestions were not incorporated in the final draft prepared by Chief Minister of MP whereas those suggestions were important for UP," Yadav said in his letter sent to the PMO today. To buttress his point, the CM said that the draft suggestions say that proposals will be implemented from this fiscal while in the meeting it was decided that proposals would be implemented from 2016-17. "In the proposals of core of core schemes, it is suggested that MGNREGA would be implemented in seven areas whereas I had suggested that in schemes like infrastructure development, power, agriculture, HRD, Health and rural development should also be included in the core of core schemes," he said in his letter. Mr Yadav said states should continue to get financial help for schemes like NRHM, Sarv Shiksha Abhiyan, ICDS, PMGSY and MDM. The CM also mentioned about BRGF and said development of backward areas should not be de-linked from centrally sponsored schemes.
