images (5)Lucknow, Aug 1- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to ensure that Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) head-quarter must be in Lucknow and not shifted to Mumbai. In a letter dispatched to PM Modi today, Yadav demanded that not only SIDBI’s head-quarter be shifted to Lucknow but the Sections of the SIDBI which have been shifted to Mumbai so far, should be also brought back here in Lucknow. He said it should be also ensured that chairman/managing director of the SIDBI should also sit here in the State capital. Advocating for the same, Mr Yadav claimed that by shifting SIDBI’s office here at Lucknow, the small scale industries would get a new boost in the State. Besides, other developmental activities would also gain momentum which will also benefit the other neighbouring states. Reminding PM about the formation of SIDBI, Akhilesh Yadav said in 1990, SIDBI Act 1990 was passed and it was than decided to make Lucknow as headquarter in order to boost the industrialsation which was in very state at that time. He further pointed that SIDBI is the only Central Government organisation in Uttar Pradesh which provided financial assistance for industrialisation. He claimed that all the necessary infrastructure, residences for the officials and employees etc all have been provided for SIDBI’s headquarter in Lucknow but still in 2003, the head-office of the bank has been made in Mumbai. Mr Yadav said at present, only one section of SIDBI is in Lucknow while all other like planning, budget, Human Resource, Credit, Accounts, Law, loan, treasury etc sections are in Mumbai and now efforts were made by the officials to shift the entire office to Mumbai from Lucknow. He said the Department also reportedly started disposing off the residential flats and other infrastructure of the Bank here in Lucknow. Mr Yadav urged Modi to immediately intervene and ensure that SIDBI office should remain in Lucknow, otherwise it would be injustice for the people of Uttar Pradesh besides it would also hurt the sentiments of the industrialists who were looking bright future for the industrialization here in the State.
