UP CM unfurl national tri-colour at Vidhan Bhawan: Narrates the SP govt



LUCKNOW, AUG 15 (UNI):- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav (C) salutes after unfurling the National flag during the 69th Independence Day function at Vidhan Sabha in Lucknow on Saturday. UNI PHOTO-40ULucknow, Aug 15- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today claimed that his government has done work during the past three year which was not done for the past 30 years. "Our government's achievement is much more than any other state governments in the past and a record has been created," he said. Mr Yadav, hoisting the national tri-colour at the Vidhan Bhawan here on the occassion of the 69th Independence Day here amid tight security arrangements, also gave his condolence on the death of former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam and even asked the people to remember Dr Kalam like Mahatma Gandhi. He also paid tributes to the people who lost their lives in the Nepal earthquake. The CM said his government has done everything to uplift the downtroddens and other oppressed class during this Samajwadi Party regime. "This SP government is of the people and it was doing work for the people," he stated. Paying his rich tributes to the freedom fighters, Mr Yadav said his government was more concerned for the farmers besides paying attention to the development of infrastructure like roads, bridges, transportation system. He narrated in detail about the Lucknow-Agra Expressway, Lucknow Metro and other ongoing developmental projects in the state. Giving details about the health system, he said the ambulances services launched in the state was unique in the country besides all efforts have been made to prevent women atrocities and control the law and order problems. The CM announced that 40,000 more recruitment would be made in the police department even as 38,000 recruitment in the police were underway. Several UP ministers, leaders of the opposition political parties and officials were present during the function at the Vidhan Bhawan. UP governor Ram Naik hoisted the national tri-colour at the Rajbhawan in presence of the senior officials. He also distributed sweets among the children and family members of the employees of the Rajbhawan. Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav unfurled the Indian flag at the state party headquarters here in presence of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, several senior UP ministers and party leaders. BJP, UP president Laxmikant Bajpai hoisted the national tri-colour at the state party office here in presence of senior leaders. UP Congress president Nirmal Khatri also hoisted the Indian flag at the state party office.
