Lucknow: With possibility of Election Commission (EC) announcing the Uttar Pradesh Assembly poll dates later next month, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav, who is racing against time to complete his developmental projects, would next week inaugurate series of projects, including the much-hyped Lucknow-Agra Green Expressway and Dial-100. Officials here today said that all the projects of the UP government was being completed faster as the Assembly elections are nearing and there is an effort to inaugurate most of the projects. However, since the ambitious Lucknow Metro Rail project could not be completed in time, the CM could be only inaugurating the trial run of the train in the first phase and its commercial run would not be possible before March next. Meanwhile, after launching the second phase of his Samajwadi Vikas Yatra from Bundelkhand on November 14, Mr Yadav will inaugurate the first phase of Gomti Riverfront project on November 16. Presently, around 2 kilometer area of the Gomti river Front near Lohia bridge would be open for the people after inauguration which will have pathway, cycle track, band play and some other facilities. On November 18, the CM would be inaugurating the Literary festival in Lucknow. However, the most important project of the Samajwadi Party government, Dial -100 which has now been rechristened as UP-100 would be inaugurated in 11 cities of the state on November 19. The Chief Minister would be inaugurating UP-100 in Lucknow and later in Bareilly the same day. Besides, it would be launched in nine other cities-- Agra, Allahabad, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Kanpur, Meerut and Varanasi on the same day through video conferencing. Later, the state ministers would be inaugurating UP-100 in other other cities covering all the 75 districts within next ten days time. Under the project, which took two years to complete, police would reach the crime spot within 15 to 20 minutes for which over 4,000 vehicles have already been given to the districts. Mr Yadav will also inaugurate the 302 kilometers long Lucknow- Agra assess controlled Green Expressway on November 21, on the eve of the 77th birthday of Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav. Officials said that creating a record of sort by constructing the country's longest expressway in shortest 22 month time, Mulayam Singh Yadav, along with other family members, would be attending the inaugural function to be held between Kannauj and Hardoi on the expressway. The main attraction of the function would be the landing of a IAF fighter jet on the expressway near the function spot. The Lucknow- Agra expressway would enable a motorist to travel to Delhi from Lucknow in record six hours, shorter duration than the trains. However, before the expressway inauguration, the CM would distribute books, uniforms, school bags to government school children on November 20,on the occasion of the Universal Children day in the state. The function to be held at Lok Bhawan, the new secretariat of the CM, would also honour some teachers on the occasion. The EC is expected to announce the dates of the assembly polls in UP after second week of December while the elections are likely to be scheduled in February-March.
