UP CM comes to help 10-year-old boy over social media report

Lucknow - Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav came to the rescue of a 10-year old boy, who had lost his one arm and was in danger of losing a leg, when he got to know through Facebook about the plight of the family.

Mr. Yadav asked the doctors of Sir Sundar Lal Hospital in Varanasi to extend medical help to the child immediately. CMO, Varanasi Dr. Mahendra Dubey confirmed that the child would get free medical help in the Trauma centre.

Around five months back, Vishal, 10, suffered burns when 11,000 voltage high tension wire fell in Karanda village in Varanasi. He was taken to hospital where doctors were forced to amputee his right arm. Vishal needed treatment for his right leg which was also severely injured. Doctors had said that if the boy does not get treatment, they would be forced to ampute his leg too.

On December 23, Brij Bhusan Dubey wrote a post on CM’s facebook account about the plight of the family. He put up pictures of Vishal too.

“On December 26, Tehsildar reached at Vishal’s door step with a team of doctors. On Sunday, he was taken to hospital and admitted there,” he said.

Mr. Dubey said that the family was running from pillar to post to get financial help for treatment of the boy. The family members had even staged a Satyagrah outside DM’s office but to no avail.

“But the administration woke up from its slumber after I wrote a post on CM’s facebook,” he said.
