UP CM assures to help acid attack victims running Sheroes Hangout cafe in Agra

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today met the acid attack survivors who are running Sheroes Hangout cafe in the taj city of Agra.

Mr Yadav applauded their initiative which include readers cafe, activism workshop, handicraft and tableu display corner of the cafe. While meeting the cafe runners, Mr Yadav said Uttar Pradesh government is committed to help the acid attack victims and this year they have also honoured such victims under the Ranilakshmi Bai bravery honor in March last.


Adding that he also said the website was also started by them. The Chief Minister stressing upon the need to stop such cases of substance abuse said stern actions should be taken immediately after an act is reported.

He further said their government will bear all the expenses of treatment of such victims, no matter what amount it is. These kind of incident in a country where women share the half of total population is really a matter of more concern, Mr Yadav added.

He also maintained that a monetary assistance of Rs three lakh have also been given to substance abuse victims in the past.
