UP CM announces subsidised flats for journalists

Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav announced several sops for the media fraternity of the state capital, including subsidised residential ownership flats for the journalists. "Samajwadi Party government has always helped the media in the past and will do whatever is required for their socio-economic welfare," Mr Yadav said, while going for a courtesy meeting with the government recognised journalists here on Janmashtami. Mr Yadav, on the demand of the journalists, also assured to look into the introduction of pension scheme for the scribes like other states, besides meeting out their day-to-day problems. "We have decided to provide you subsidised residences on ownership basis and a clear policy would be announced within a fortnight," he added. During an hour-long interaction with the scribes, Mr Yadav said his government was ready to solve all problems of the media
