UP BJP state executive in Jhansi from tomorrow

Jhansi : BJP has started returning to its basics in Uttar Pradesh, before the crucial 2017 assembly polls with now concentrating on the upper caste votes. The first state executive meeting of the UP BJP lead by Keshav Prasad Maurya slated in the Bundelkhand capital Jhansi from tomorrow gives a clear picture of the party's return to the upper caste fold after targetting the backwards in the recent past. The BJP state executive , which was postponed twice, would witness inauguration by Union MSME minister Kalraj Mishra tomorrow at 1100 hours while the valedictory session on Sunday at 1300 hours would be addressed by Union Hone minister Rajnath Singh. Union Water Resources minister Ms Uma Bharati, who is also a local MP of Jhansi would also be present on both the days of the meet. However with the recent upsurge of Congress by projecting a Brahmin CM face Sheila Dikshit and outster of a Thakur, Dayashanker Singh from the party for his derogatory remarks against BSP president Mayawati , has forced the BJP to woo the upper caste particularly the Brahmins and the Thakurs. But though it was said in the political circle that Kalraj and Rajnath are way apart in the UP politics, but now both would be used by BJP to woo the upper caste vote bank.

There is also a speculation that Rajnath Singh or Kalraj Mishra could be named as the campaign committee head for the party during UP polls. Meanwhile, party’s general secretary Vijay Bahadur Pathak said here today that party has never took any decision on caste lines and both the Union ministers Kalraj Mishra and Rajnath Singh were invited for the state executive as they are the senior most leaders of the state. " The two days meet will deliberate some important decisions for the coming assembly polls besides two resolutions would be passed by the executive," he claimed. The agenda of the meet would be finalised during the meeting of the 40 member office bearers this evening. Around 600 party leaders of the state would participate in the two days meet including party’s in-charge and national vice-president Om Mathur, Organisational secretary Shiv Prakash and national general secretary Arun Singh. The leaders would address the leaders in six sessions where two resolutions --political and agriculture would be adopted. Party’s state president Keshav Prasad Maurya will give his presidential address on the inaugural session tomorrow. The executive committee meeting will be held at Bhano Devi Goyal Sarawswati Mandir in the city.
