TI escapes Naxal firing

Sukma, Chhattisgarh :  A town inspector (TI) had a narrow escape when Naxals opened fire at his vehicle in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district late last evening, police said. TI MN Sahu was returning to Konta when a group of Maoists was carrying out search of vehicles near Birla village. Mr Sahu and other police personnel accompanying him got suspicious and turned the vehicle around. As soon as Maoists saw the vehicle, they tried to stop it and opened indiscriminate fire. Five bullets hit the vehicle but no policeman was hurt.
