Panaji: Philip Lee, the producer of acclaimed Hollywood films like The Revenant, Cloud Atlas, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, will be conducting a master class on 'Mounting and Positioning the Epic across Cultures' during Knowledge Series session at the NDFC Film Bazaar to be held from November 20-24 on the sidelines of the India International Film Festival (IFFI) here.
According to a statement here today, Lee will share his insights, learnings and more on how he gauges the potential of new concepts, place them in the context of their cultures and build them into universal stories, mount and make them epic like in the expanse of their thought and eventually execution and position them for the huge releases as well as successes that they have been.
His filmography reads like the Masters' Gallery and his work reflects the simple truth -- that if a story is universal in theme and appeal it will cut across cultures and work globally.
The Knowledge Series consists of specially curated presentations, lectures and panel discussions with key decision makers and market drivers of the film industry.
Over multiple sessions during the four days of Film Bazaar, the Knowledge Series covers a wide range of topics including (but not limited to) the evolution of content through changing socio economic structures, expanding genres, conventional and innovative platforms of distribution, various emerging co-production possibilities, international collaborations and treaties, and the art of navigating various film festivals and markets.
Film Bazaar is a platform exclusively created to encourage collaboration between the international and South Asian film fraternities.
The market aims at facilitating the sales of world cinema in the region.
The 2015 market saw an attendance of 1,102 delegates from 38 countries with a country delegation from Canada.
The 10th edition of Film Bazaar will be held from November 20-24 at the Marriott Resort in Goa.
