Syllabus of every institution would change after 3 years: Irani

Lucknow : Union Human Resource Development Minister Smriti Irani today said all the institutions of the country would have to change their syllabus every three years and they cannot take full fees from the students during counselling. She said very soon her Ministry would bring out an app "Sayam" through which students of IIT, IIM, central universities, central engineering institutions and kendriya vidalayas would get their certificates and degrees. Speaking at a function organised by Youth in Action on Indian education system, Ms Irani said the Ministry was making a system to set up 1,000 centres in the country from where the students can get certificates with just paying Rs 500.

She said from July onwards study materials of 1000 graduate and postgraduate courses of the University Grant Commission would be made available free of cost. Every deemed university would have to provide health care system on its permises. Ms Irani said a directive have been issued that an institute cannot take full fees from the student during counselling but will do so only after the admission process is completed. Besides every institutions will have to change their syllabus compulsory every three years time. She added that all the institutions will have to give the degree to the students within 180 days of the exams.
