New Delhi:  Union External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today launched a personal attack on former Lok Sabha Speaker and Opposition Presidential candidate Meira Kumar by sharing a video of a 2013 Lok Sabha speech in which the latter was seen repeatedly interrupting the then Leader of Opposition. Taking to the micro blogging website twitter, Ms Swaraj tweeted along with a link to the six-minute-long video of her address in April 2013: "This is how Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar treated the Leader of Opposition." A link to a news report claiming that "Speaker interrupted Sushma 60 times in 6-min speech" was also tweeted. The video shows Ms Kumar saying "thank you" and "all right" frequently as Ms Swaraj attacked the UPA II Government dubbing it as "the most corrupt government" since Independence. The fiery Swaraj then led a walkout by party MPs. Ms Swaraj's animosity against Ms Kumar came to the fore after the latter was named as Opposition Presidential candidate against former Bihar Governor and National Democratic Alliance candidate Ram Nath Kovind. The confrontation between the two women MPs had occurred during the 2013 Budget Session. However, the video shows Ms Swaraj being at the receiving end of heckling from the Treasury benches but the interruptions were not caused by Ms Kumar, an unfailingly polite politician as indicated by Ms Swaraj.
