STF arrested four persons for illegal arms making and selling in UP

Lucknow : Special Task Force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police has arrested four members of an illegal arms gang in Ambedkarnagar and Sultanpur districts and recovered illegal weapons and other indicriminate articles from them last night. Police sources said here today that after information STF arrested four criminals involved in the trade of illegal arms namely Surendra Upadhyay, Mohammad Ayub, Anand and Rajesh Kumar Jaiswal under Sultanpur Kotwali area. Along with the arrest police also recovered eight country-made pistols, two other pistols with several live cartridges, five country-made bombs, 10 SLR cartridges and Rs 12000 in cash. Sources said that arrested criminal had been involved in illegal arms smuggling from long time. Accused Surendra Upadhyay told police that he manages illegal firearms from Ambedkarnagar and Azamgharh district. He also said that Mohammad Aslam assembles and sales illegal weapons from Samaspur Biwana area of Ambedkarnagar district. The STF team raided the illegal firearms factory at Aslam’s house in Samaspur Biwana area of Ambedkarnagar district, on the disclosure by Surendra. Police recovered illegal weapons in large amount, several live cartridges, machine to fill the cartridges, equipments for illegal arms making, 2 full deer horns and some pieces of deer horns. Aslam admitted during the interrogation that he is involved in this business for long and sold several firearms to customers.
