New Delhi : Expressing delight over the appointment of Anil Kumble as the head coach of the Indian cricket team, former cricketer Javagal Srinath believes that the team will experience immense success under his guidance. Talking on Kumble's appointment, the veteran Indian pacer said,"It is a matter of personal joy for as my former teammate has been handed a responsibility which is one of the most demanding jobs in global cricket. Srinath, who is currently an ICC Match Referee, said,"It’s a good decision from the Cricket Advisory Committee and very happy news for me.
They have selected a capable candidate for the top post. As a player and captain, Kumble has always enjoyed to accept challenges. I believe that he will be an outstanding coach and would compell the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to extending his tenure beyond the one-year mark," the 46-year-old added. Notably, Kumble carries enormous experience of coaching and administration.
He has also served as a mentor to the Royal Challengers Bangalore and Mumbai Indians franchise in IPL, besides serving as the Chairman of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) Cricket Committee.
