Shramjeevi blast: UP court to give judgement on remaining 3 accused on Aug 20

Jaunpur : A local court today deferred the verdict on terror accused Obaidur Rahman alias Babu Bhai till August 20 in connection with the Shramjeevi train blast, which occurred 11 years back. The court will now pronounce the judgement of three accused on August 20, which includes Babu Bhai, Nafikul Biswas and Hilaluddin alias Hilal. Presently, Nifikul and Hilal are in Hyderabad in another terror case and the court has issued a summon for their presence on that day. Additional District and Sessions judge( first) Budhiram Yadav announced here today that the verdict of all the three terror accused would be given on August 20. On Saturday, the court had given death sentence along with Rs 10 lakh fine to one of the terror accused Mohammad Alamgir alias Roni.

The blast occurred in the general coach of the New Delhi bound Shramjeevi Express at Hariharpur crossing between Harpalganj and Koiripur railway stations in the district. In the blast 12 people were killed and 40 others were injured. During the investigation, it was found that terrorists from Bangladesh, Obedurrahman alias Babu Bhai, Nafikul Biswas, Sohag Khan alias Hilal alias Hilaluddin, Mohamammad Alamgir alias Roni, Doctor Sayeed, Mohammad Sharif and Gulam Rajdani were involved in the blast and the conspiracy was hatched in Rajsahi in Bangladesh. Police was yet to trace Doctor Sayeed while Gulam Rajdani was killed in an encounter. Mohammad Sharif was absconding for which help has been sought from Interpol. Four of the accused Obedurrahman, Hilaluddin,Nafikul and Alamgir were arrested by the police, but later Hilaluddin and Nakiful were shifted to Hyderabad for another terror case.
