Mr Singh, who had attacked the functioning of the Uttar Pradesh government in social media, sent his VRS application to state chief secretary Alok Ranjan yesterday. The said officer has raised his voice against the government over the anolomies in the recruitment drive and the killing of a scribe in Shahjahanapur. Talking to UNI, Mr Singh said he has sent his VRS application yesterday on the birth anniversary of Chandrashekhar Azad and now the issue is in the government's court. Official sources here today said the decision on the VRS application of the IAS officer was yet to be made. Singh, a 1982 batch IAS officer pasted his VRS letter in his Facebook post in which he alleged that hierachy has collapsed in the state while the officials are being made the scapegoat. "UP Civil Services Board is almost dead and the officers have become the puppet in the hands of their political masters," he said. The letter also alleged that every week, 2 dozen IAS/IPS were transferred in UP while in the last 15 years, around 200 IAS/IPS were suspended in the country of which 105 are only in UP. As many as 54 per cent politicians are of the criminal background and it is nearly impossible for any able officer to work under them, he claimed, adding that the system has collapsed since 2000. He also mentioned about the 10 most unusual incidents in the state which had been protested by him openly. Earlier, the officer, who was on study leave between 2004 to 2013 in his post wrote, "Sir kill us but do not scare us." He wrote on the facebook wall after news about Mr Singh getting charge sheet was published in a newspaper. In the post, he even spoke about serious issues like his murder. He said a few ruling party members in order to please their leaders can even murder him. Surya Pratap Singh would be the second officer, who has locked horns with the state government. Another IPS officer Amitabh Thakur has been suspended early this month allegedly for giving an application to register FIR against ruling Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav.
