SC seeks reply from govt, IIT-M on giving grace marks in entrance exam


New Delhi:  The Supreme Court today sought a detailed reply from the Union Government and the Indian Institute of Technology-Madras as to why seven additional grace marks were awarded to aspirants who did not even attempt the 'misprinted' questions in the joint entrance examinations. A vacation bench headed by Justice A M Khanwilkar and comprising Justice Sanjay Kishan Kaul sought a detailed reply from the Central government and IIT-Madras in the case. Seven additional grace marks were awarded to aspirants who did not attempt the 'misprinted' questions in the joint entrance examinations. The apex court also refused to stay the counselling for admissions in IITs which is likely to begin from today, and fixed the matter for further hearing till July 7.
