SC orders BCCI to release Rs 1.33 cr for two matches


New Delhi: The Supreme Court today ordered BCCI to release Rs 1 crore 33 lakh for the two cricket test matches to be played between India and England in Mumbai's Wankhede stadium and the other one in Chennai.
A bench of the apex court headed by Chief Justice Tirath Singh Thakur passed the order after hearing from Kapil Sibal, the lawyer of the BCCI.
The apex court also asked to release Rs 25 lakh each for the three ODIs and three T-20 matches.
The BCCI had moved the apex court seeking its order to release the funds as there was an earlier order of it staying the release.
