The MEA has sought a report from Gurgaon police after a complaint was filed with it by two Nepali women accusing a Saudi Arabian diplomat of gang-rape, torture and wrongful confinement.
MEA spokesperson Vikas Swaroop told that the Saudi Arabian embassy has approached the ministry after its diplomats were booked but they were told that they will have to wait for the police report sought by the ministry.
“We will take any action after we get a detailed report from the Gurgaon police,” he said. The diplomat accused of rape is of first secretary rank.
According to the complaint filed with the police, the two Nepali women were domestic help in his house and they were rescued last night by police after a tip-off by an NGO.
