RSS leader attack case: 4 suspects brought to Jalandhar on production warrant

Jalandhar :  Police today brought four persons from Ludhiana central jail on production warrant suspected to be involved in the murderous attack on RSS Punjab unit vice chief Jagdish Gagneja, on August 6. The accused were said to be arrested by Jodhewal police of Ludhiana some days ago and were sent to jail. Confirming this, Division-5 police station Additional SHO Bhagwant Singh Bhullar said that they were identified as Amit Arora, Amar Disouza, Bharati Sandhu and Honey. He said that Amit Arora is a leader of the Shiv Sena and he had managed the murderous attack on Gagneja to avenge some rivalry with the RSS activists. Bhullar said that the local police had traced out some clues which led the investigating officers towards the four lodged in Jail at Ludhiana.

He said that all the four would be taken on police remand to interrogate them intensely to fish out the truth and the motive behibd murderous attack on the RSS leader. Gagneja was attacked on August 6 in the late evening when he accompanied by his wife was on his way to his car parked near the Red Cross market near Jyoti chowk. The arrest of all the four accused had surfaced a day after the state government had decided to transfer the case to the CBI. to nab the alleged perpetrators and their anti-national co-conspirators residing in foreign countries. The custody of the accused taken by Jalandhar police had nearly dismissed the contentions of the Punjab Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister that some foreign elements had been involved in the murderous attack on Gagneja to disturb peace and harmony of the state.
