Retirement age for doctors all over India to be raised to 65: Modi

Saharanpur : Retirement age of doctors in government hospitals all over the country is being raised to 65 years, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced here . Addressing a rally to mark the second anniversary of his government at the Centreyesterday, Mr Modi said the step has been taken in view of the shortage of doctors in the country and difference in retirement age in various states. To ensure uniformity, the retirement age for doctors engaged in the Central as well as state government services all over the country, will now be 65. The Union Cabinet, the PM said, would take a formal decision in this regard within a week.
