Ayodhya : Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad ex-chairman and Mahant of Hanumangarhi temple Gyan Das here today said that he has given blessings to Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi to become the Prime Minister of the country so that the vexed Ayodhya issue could be resolved at the earliest. During his around 20 minutes one-to-one close door meet, both Mr Gandhi and the Mahant discussed about the latest political situation of the country as well as in UP. "I have blessed Mr Gandhi to become the PM of the country so that the long pending dispute at Ayodhya could be resolved amicably," he told UNI after the meet. "I have told the Congress vice-president that politics has made the temple-mosque dispute in Ayodhya more critical and something had to be done to solve it," the Mahant said. However, Gyan Das, said Mr Gandhi gave a patient hearing to what he said but did not make any comment. "I have also informed Mr Gandhi that we are repairing a mosque in Ayodhya,which is the property of Hanumangarhi temple," the Mahant said, to which Mr Gandhi said, 'it is the real culture of the country where a sadhu with the help of Muslims were repairing a mosque.' The Mahant is opposed to the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, but is very close to Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav and was making effort for an amicable solution to the vexed Ayodhya dispute in the recent past. Earlier, Mr Gandhi prayed before Lord Hanuman at the Hanumangarhi temple seeking his blessings for the party in the UP assembly elections.
