Chandigarh:  Taking strong exception to non-action by Punjab Police, BJP Punjab today took up the issue of Dalit atrocity in village Bagga, Tehsil Baba Bakala, Amritsar with National Commission for Scheduled Castes here today. A delegation of BJP Punjab comprising State vice-president Harjit Singh Grewal, State Secretary Vineet Joshi and president SC Morcha BJP Punjab Manjit Bali met Raj Kumar, Regional Director NCSC and apprised him of unabated Congress atrocities in Punjab. Detailing about the case, BJP leaders told NCSC that Kashmir Singh and his family were attacked thrice on April 17th, 29th and May 15th of this year. On May 15, the Congress goons not only tied his hands at his back but tore his and his wife's clothes, beat nude Kashmir Singh mercilessly, made video, took pictures and in the end took him on their motorcycle. ''Despite lodging complaint twice at Punjab Police Help Line 181, no action was taken by SHO Matewal. Instead SHO, not only sided with accused Congress goondas but also kept Kashmir Singh under illegal custody for three days,'' they said. Taking cognisance of the complaint, NCSC has issued notice to ADGP (law & order) and SSP Amritsar (rural), asking them to be present at regional headquarters Chandigarh on May 23, along with the case details and action taken report, concluded the BJP leaders.
