Police cracks murder case of Kapurthala industrialist’s minor kid

Jalandhar, May 8 - A high level three-member special investigation team constituted by DGP Suresh Arora today succeeded in cracking 28-day old murder case of the 14-year-old minor son of Kapurthala based industrialist. Kaputhala SSP Rajinder Singh today said that during investigations, the SIT went round the area through which the kidnappers took Narender Jit Singh son Jaskirat Singh with them. The police came across certain vital clues from the footage of the CCTV cameras installed on the way, the kidnappers passed along with Jaskirat. SSP said that the police after checking the footage of the CCTV cameras took some people their custody for interrogation which proved vital and fruitful for the SIT. The police arrested three people including Parvinder Singh Shelly (18), a cousin of the boy, whose body was recovered near Goindwal Sahib in Taran Tarn district. The other two accused arrested in the case have been identified as Rajinder Singh and Arshdeep Singh (both 19 years old). Shelly is said to have confessed before the SIT that the crime was committed due to sheer jealousy for which he planned the conspiracy to liquidate Jaskirat in connivance with his two school mates Rajinder Singh and Arshdeep Singh. He also revealed to police that they snatched a mobile phone of a migrated labourer to call the parents of Jaskirat Singh for ransom of Rs 30 lakh in lieu of releasing him. Jaskirat was kidnapped on April 11 and his decomposed body was recovered on April 13 near Goindwal sahib. It is also revealed by the culprits that they were inspired from the TV serial ‘Crime Petrol” to commit the crime and threw the killed one to some far of place so that the police could not reach them
