People have rejected NDA's two year's function: Mayawati


 Lucknow : Bahujan Samaj Party chief Mayawati has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's rally at Saharanpur on the completion of two years at the Centre was "a total failure" with people rejecting it outrightly. "The crowd was called from Haryana and Uttarakhand in UP's Saharanpur to fill the venue as people have rejected the NDA's two year rule," she claimed. The BSP president, in a statement here, also attacked the BJP for spending public money and government machinery on functions such that being held in Saharanpur. "It would have been much better had funds been spent on people welfare,'' Ms Mayawati said. The BSP questioned BJP about the `acche din' that were promised to the people. "The BJP has rather failed on all accounts. Be it creating jobs or building infrastructure,'' the former UP chief minister said. "Narendra Modi through the Saharanpur rally had tried to cover up the laspes of the NDA government and his speech had nothing new, " she said. She alleged that the BJP was only promoting `religious fanaticism' and `intolerance' among the people. ``In fact, the BJP has rendered the `principle of secularism' meaningless,'' she said claiming that the incidents of violence against Muslims was on the rise. Moreover, Ms Mayawati said, the welfare of poor farmers was also being covertly sidelined to serve the interest of a few big industrialists and big business houses. The BSP boss also attacked the BJP for spending public money and government machinery on functions such that being held in Saharanpur. "It would have been much better had funds were spent on people welfare,'' Mayawati said. The BSP questioned BJP about the `acche din' that were promised to the people. She also said announcing the retirement age of doctors at 65 years was merely a cheap publicity as it could have been done just through a simple government order and it did'nt need such hype.
