Patwari held taking bribe in MP

Indore : A patwari was caught red-handed by Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta’s Special Police Establishment while accepting a bribe of Rs 1,500 at Tanda village in Dhar district, Lokayukta sources said. “Patwari Govind Rawal had demanded a bribe of Rs 7,000 from Meher Singh for mutation of land. Meher had already paid Rs 6,000 as advance. Govind was demanding Rs 1,500 more for issuing receipt,” said Lokayukta Inspector Somesh Sumaiyya. On the basis of his complaint, a Lokayukta police team arrested the patwari while accepting Rs 1,500 as bribe yesterday.
