Himachal Pradesh Jewellers Association would observe one day complete 'bandh' tomorrow in protest for making PAN card mandatory for bulk sale of gold in the state. Talking to UNI, Association Treasurer Gopal Krishan said that all jewellers of state would observe complete bandh in the state on Wednesday. He said that Union government had made use of PAN card mandatory for sale of gold and other ornaments for customers who would purchase Rs two lakh jewellery. He alleged that it would badly impact their sale as most of people did not have PAN so far. It is worthwhile to mention here that during charging of VAT on the gold sale every jeweller would have to take the PAN number of customers while levying VAT on sale.
