Omar hits out at J&K govt

Srinagar : Taking a jibe at the state government over security force action in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, which led to the death of a lecturer and injuries to several others, former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah said if this is winning the hearts and the minds of the people, bravo. “This is winning the hearts and the minds of the people. Bravo,” Mr Abdullah, who is the working president of main opposition National Conference (NC), wrote on micro-blogging site twitter. Mr Abdullah was responding to a tweet which had graphic pictures of the youth injured in security force action at Khrew in south Kashmir. The tweet was accompanied by text which read, ‘Healing touch and Insaniyat on full display in Khrew. No wonder they managed to beat one to death. Sickening’ A 30-year-old lecturer was allegedly beaten to death while several others were critically injured by security forces yesterday in Pulwama, triggering massive clashes that left over 30 people wounded at various places in the valley.
