Offices of two cellular companies attacked in Srinagar

rewolwer-shoot-300x168Srinagar, Jul 24 -Unidentified gunmen today attacked offices of two cellular companies with grenades after forcing all employees to rush out from the shops in Srinagar today. Official sources said that gunmen entered two cellular company shops in Karan Nagar area, half a km from Srinagar District Police Lines (DPL) and forced employees and customers to rush out. They said two blasts were heard in both the shops, causing extensive damage. Window panes of nearby shops were also damaged, they said, adding however, no one was injured. The gunmen later escaped before police could arrive there, eyewitnesses said, adding that people from all nearby buildings came out in panic after the blast, sound of which was heard in the entire area. Earlier, gunmen had opened fire on a shop of a franchise of a BSNL at Sopore, killing an employee and injuring two others in May this year. This was followed by series of attack in which a villager, who had rented out his land for construction of a mobile tower was killed and another was injured. The cellular services in north Kashmir, particularly in Sopore and Pattan was badly affected after these attacks. However, police later claimed that two attackers of rival group of Hizbul Mujahideen(HM) have been identified and announced a reward of Rs ten lakh each. However, the posters of one of the accused released by police turned out to be a shopkeeper of Kupwara. However, the separatists alleged that intelligence agencies were involved in these attacks.
