Now vigilance probe on property of suspended UP IPS officer

thLucknow, Jul 17 - After registering of FIR in a rape case, now Uttar Pradesh police has initiated a Vigilance enquiry against the suspended IPS officer Amitabh Thakur,who has given a complaint to police of receiving threats by Samajwadi Party president Mulayam Singh Yadav. Mr Thakur told reporters here today that he has been directed by IG Personnel B P Jogdand to submit the details of immoveable and moveable properties of his own and that of his dependents to the IG by July 19. When asked, Mr Thakur said he has already submitted most of information to the Government in the Lokpal Act and shall try to give the information as soon as possible. He said one shall always welcome such enquiries as "they give you an opportunity to prove your genuineness and they must be done whenever any doubt arises." Amitabh, an IG rank officer, was suspended after he complained for lodging of FIR against Mr Yadav for threatening him on phone. Later, a rape case was also registered against him and his social activist wife Nutan Thakur.
