Now motor vehicles will run on Ethanol says Union Surface Transport Minister

Muzaffarnagar, Nov 29

Union Surface Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari today here said that motor vehicles, including cars, buses and motorcycles would start running on Ethanol from the next Republic Day. Now motor vehicles, including cars and buses will soon start running on Ethanol like that in Brazil and this would probably start from January 26 next year, the Union Minister Maintained.

He said that automobile companies like Honda and Yamaha have made such motorcycles which would run on Ethanol and the profit of motorcycles running on ethanol will directly be enjoyed by the cane farmers. The Union Minister said that an ethanol pumps will also be set up like that of petrol pump from the next republic day and giving licence for this have been started. He further maintained that, licence would be given to BJP workers in Uttar Pradesh and the Centre was committed to improving the condition of farmers in the country.

Mr Gadkari, while talking to the mediapersons here said that, western Uttar Pradesh was the biggest produced of cane but still the production of cane is very less than that of Maharashtra and advised the farmers to keep a distance of 8 centimeters instead of 6 centimeters while showing the sugar crop and sow some food crops in the gap. Also present on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Agriculture Sanjeev Baliyan appraised Mr Gadkari that the flyover been constructed on the Delhi-Haridwar national highway-58 could not be completed due to a mosque coming its way and the state government was not helping them in this case.
