Nitish is a good person, people should vote him as CM: Kejriwal

A day after he said he is not supporting any political party in Bihar, leading to media reports that he was distancing himself from state Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today described Mr Kumar as ''a good man and said the people of Bihar should vote him CM''.

''Some media houses are distorting my statement.. I fully support Nitish. He is a good person. People should vote him CM,'' Mr Kejriwal posted on microblogging website Twitter.

The clarification came after his comments made during the chief ministers' meeting in Delhi indicated otherwise.

Speaking at the CMs' meet yesterday, called by him on the issue of cooperative federalism, the Delhi CM had said, ''I am not supporting anyone in Bihar and have not gone there for campaigning. I had only gone there to attend a workshop on good governance.'

' Media reports had said the CM's statement was a sign that he was distancing himself from Mr Kumar.

Further, Mr Kumar's inability to attend yesterday's meeting also fuelled reports that all is not well between both the leaders.

Earlier, Mr Kumar and Mr Kejriwal have expressed support for each other. While Mr Kumar had expressed support for Mr Kejriwal's demand for full statehood for Delhi, Mr Kejriwal, reciprocated by promising support to the former in the Bihar election.
