Narada accused TMC MLA Iqbal Ahmed seeks more time to appear before CBI


Kolkata: West Bengal ruling Trinamool Congrss MLA and Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) Deputy Mayor Iqbal Ahmed, one of the prime 13 accused in the Narada sting operation scam, today sought more time with the CBI to depose before its investigating officials.
Khanakul assembly segment legislator Iqbal Ahmed, who has been served a notice, was scheduled to appear before the CBI officials at Nizam Palace around 1100 hours today.
An advocate representing the political leader, however, appeared before the CBI officials and handed over a letter seeking 7-10 days time for appearance.
Mr Ahmed, who has been abstaining for some months from attending his civic office, was reportedly sick and was also fasting for Ranjam month.
However, there had been no official confirmation from the CBI office regarding the next course of action.
