Murthal gangrapes: FIR registered at Mahila Thana

Amid allegations of gangrape or molestation of some women in Murthal, a woman has reported to Murthal police that she was gangraped in a building. Addressing a news conference here today, Deputy Inspector General of Haryana Police (DIG) Rajshree Singh said, ''We have registered an FIR at the Mahila Police Thana on the complaint of the victim.'' The survivor alleged that while she was travelling in a car, some of the protestors demonstrating on the night of February 22 and February 23 during the Jat agitation, broke the windows of her car.

There were other ladies in the car too, but they ran away soon after the attack. The attackers took her in an isolated place and gangraped her. She also claimed that her brother-in-law was also among the men, who gangraped her, adding that it could be a case of family dispute.
