Lucknow : Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav today asked some tough questions from the party cadres as to when they will stop land grabbing, minting money and overcome their other weaknesses. "If you are so fond of money, than politics is not your cup of tea, you should do some business and there you can earn more money. Only those people can survive in politics who have the spirit for serving the people as public life demands high levels of accountability’’, said Mulayam Singh Yadav. Addressing a meeting of the party leaders ad cadre on the occasion of 84th birth anniversary of the socialist leader Janeshwar Mishra here today, Mr Yadav said `you are dreaming of being voted back to power in 2017 even as you are continuing with your old habits of land grabbing and several other illegal activities’’. On several occasions in last four year and recently in July, he had warned the cadres and leaders to refrain from indulging in illegal activities or they will be shown the door. "All of you are more interested in sycophancy and keep making rounds of my house and other leaders. Instead of this you better stop land grabbing and minting money and do the political work as you will get the party ticket only with my signature’’, said the SP chief adding ``Party will have to focus special attention on the youth , farmers and women if you wish to be voted back to power in 2017’’. Taking to task the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, he said `` party leaders, MLAs and ministers are complacent about the next assembly elections and there seems to be no sense of urgency for preparing for the next elections’’. He however added `` even if all other parties join hand, Samajwadi Party will form the next government in UP. "Leaders of all other parties the BJP,Bahujan Samaj Party and even the Congress is working hard at the grass rot level for the next assembly elections as their cadres have fanned out to the remote areas and villages. Where do we stand as compared the hard work being done by the other political parties, if you do not get your acts together than there is no hope for the Samajwadi party in 2017 assembly elections’’, said Mr Yadav in a terse message to his party leader.
Expressing his displeasure with the chief minister Akhilesh Yadav, SP chief said `` Nobody cares about in the party about what I tell them, I had been repeatedly asking Akhilesh to organise training camps for the party cadres so that they are well versed with the ideology of the party and the socialist visionaries like Ram Manohar Lohia and Janeshwar Mishra. For the lack of training they remain ignorant and have acquired the only skill of raising slogans in the praise of the leaders’. Accusing the bureaucracy of being unresponsive and insensitive to the people and the grass rot level workers of the party Mulayam Singh Yadav said `` I see many dejected and depressed faces in the crowed, I can understand their agony and chief minister Akhilesh Yadav must pay attention to the hardships being faced by the party cadres’’. Asking his chief minister son Akhilesh Yadav to take some immediate measures to make the bureaucrats fall in line SP chief said `` When I was chief minister , I had placed five district magistrates under suspension in one day and there was salutary impact and they all started behaving’’. SP chief however also lashed out at the senior party leaders for not giving due attention to the grass root party cadres when they approach them with the grievances of the people. ‘Party leaders should learn to behave as this is election time and it’s the party cadre who have a decisive role in the success of the candidates in the elections’’, said SP chief. Referring to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections SP chief said `` had the party had won 45 Lok Sabha seats would have fulfilled the dream of Janeshwar Mishra, but only five won that to from one family –one is my grandson, another is nephew and one is son of Ram Gopal Yadav and another is my daughter in law. But that shows that the people of the state trust the family and they will again repose their trust in the family and the Samajwadi party would form the government in 2017’’. He also announced to hold 18 divisional level meetings in the state soon.
