Modi calls on Israeli Prez Rivlin


Jerusalem:  Israeli President Reuven Rivlin today broke protocol while receiving Prime Minister Narendra Modi, giving him a warm hug when he called on the President at his official residence here. The Prime Minister is on a historic three-day visit to the country. Mr Modi while thanking President Rivlin said that when he had visited India he took time to visit different places of the country to get a feel of India. The Prime Minister said that he was also grateful to Israel for giving him an opportunity to get a feel of the country. The Prime Minister also said that when he said “I for I” that meant “Israel for India”. Mr Modi was accorded a warm welcome yesterday on his arrival to Israel and on the second day today, he will have bilateral talks with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. India and Israel are likely to finalise a number of MoUs and agreements including a strategic pact on Agriculture and Water. The Prime Minister will also address the Indian community in Tel Aviv.
