Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow has turned blue, the official colour of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), as it prepares to showcase a big rally here tomorrow on the occasion of the 10th death anniversary of the party's founder Kanshi Ram. BSP president and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati is slated to address the gathering at the Manyawar Kanshi Ram Memorial, situated on the old jail premises with around 5 lakhs party supporters attending the rally. In the state capital big hoardings of late Kanshi Ram, Mayawati and other Dalit leaders have been put up. BSP blue flags with its election symbol elephant have covered the streets of the capital. The Kanshiram Memorial has also been decked up with blue lights and flags. As per the party leaders, around 1000 supporters from each of the 403 Assembly segments in UP would join this programme for which the BSP leaders are camping in Lucknow for the past couple of days and the supporters have started pouring in for the rally.

To be held at sprawling Kanshiram Memorial, the rally will also be a consolidated show by the party supremo after her four previous rallies across the state to launch her campaign for the 2017 Assembly elections. The party has booked 22 special trains to ferry the party supporters for the rally. Of these special trains, 16 alone will come from West UP, while two have been booked from East UP's Ballia district. Sources said each train will have 20 coaches - sleeper and general - to ferry around 5,000 supporters. This way, around 1 lakh BSP workers will come by train alone. The trains will have no halts and will arrive in Lucknow this evening, sources said.. Party supporters will subsequently be ferried back to their home districts soon after the rally is over.
